Executive Board Member | Treasurer

Barbara Ashley-Jones currently serves as an Executive Board Member and Vice President of the Born To Be Wealthy Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of children through various wealth-building initiatives.

Barbara began her professional journey in the financial industry, where she served as Assistant Treasurer and Bank Operations Manager for a New York-based international bank. After relocating to Orlando in 1987, she took on the role of Operations Manager at The First FA Bank in Orlando from 1988 to 1993. During this period, she also earned her Florida mortgage broker license and her Florida real estate license, marking the beginning of her extensive and successful career in real estate.

As a long-time resident of the Lake Nona area, Barbara has established herself as a diverse and active REALTOR® on the Premier Sotheby’s International Realty team, covering Central Florida. Her comprehensive background allows her to meet and exceed any real estate needs, supported by her vast network of contacts locally, nationally, and internationally. Through networking, trade missions, and personal travel, Barbara has developed a unique skill set that ensures her success on multiple levels.

Barbara’s commitment to excellence and personal service is evident in her community involvement. She has worked on projects with county commissioners, including the installation of covered bus stops and streetlights along a major road in Orlando. She is a dedicated volunteer, assisting at homeless shelters and contributing monthly to the Share-A-Meal program for Ronald McDonald House. Additionally, Barbara mentors new associates, sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience.

Since 1994, Barbara has been a member of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida Board, where she served as treasurer. She was also the founding treasurer of the Guyanese American Cultural Association of Central Florida. Her leadership roles extended to the Orange County Minority Women Business Enterprise board from 1999 to 2002 and the Orange County Housing Finance Authority from 2003 to 2013, where she served as Chairman from 2009 to 2011. Barbara also contributed to the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce and founded the Nona Business Alliance.

Barbara is an active member of the National Association of REALTORS® and the Orlando Regional Real Estate Association (ORRA), serving on several ORRA committees. Her dedication to professional and ethical service to both the public and her peers is unwavering. Beyond her professional achievements, Barbara values spending time with her family and has made it a priority to travel with them annually for over 30 years.
